Richard Amos 8th Dan, is well known for having completed the three-year JKA instructors’ program in Tokyo in 1994, becoming the only the second westerner ever to do so in the JKA’s 50-year history. A former Karate Union of GB junior national champion and British team member. Sensei Amos enjoyed several years on the powerful KUGB national team during the boom years of Shotokan Karate in Europe during the early 1980’s He passed Sandan under Enoeda Sensei in 1984, then left England for the USA in 1986.
